The Business of Happiness: Happiness as the short and sure path to greater effectiveness!

Study after study has found happier people to be more motivated and more productive than less happy individuals. For instance, happier employees are more efficient and less likely to cheat than unhappy ones, and happier managers tend to make better decisions and are more insightful and creative than unhappy managers. Outside work, happier students do better than their peers in school, and happier couples generally make more money and churn out better kids than the average population.

The opposite is equally true: unhappy (e.g., those who are stressed, frustrated, or disappointed) employees, managers, students, and couples tend to be less effective and less productive than their happy peers.

What makes certain people more “happy” and others more “uptight and stressed”? In this course, we will explore these issues in detail. We will learn what we can do to brighten up our lives, thereby increasing our chances of success in life and at work.
